Why does my hood set low when mounted directly to the OEM hinge?
All tolerances under the hood have been increased to accomodate all vehicles and as many variances as practical. We have re-engineered the hinge mounts on the hood for a 3/16″ additional clearance. You should expect to have to shim an average 1/8″ between hinge and hinge mounting area on hood. (it’s easier to shim up than it is to grind off material.) This varies from vehicle to vehicle and yours may require more or less.
