Why does my HillSpeed HUD 05 give a different speed reading to my vehicle speedometer?

If calibrated correctly, (for example with a GPS receiver or on a dyno) the HillSpeed HUD 05, gives a completely accurate speed display. The vehicle speedometer is permitted by Australian Design Rules, for all speeds above 40 km/h, to have an accuracy of +/- 10%.
