Why does my Doberman Puppy have pus filled spots round the bottom of his mouth and chin?

Dobermans are one of the breeds that are prone to puppy acne some grow out of it and others have it on and off throughout there live. Make sure you are washing his food and water bowls well as bacteria that builds up on them can be a contributing factor. Wash them daily with soap and water and I would recommend running them through the dishwasher at least once a week if you have one. It is possible the harder spot is an ingrown hair/whisker so I would recommend keeping an eye on that one, but as far as the rest so they should be fine.

these spots sound like they could be puppy acne. don’t bath him too much this can cause all sorts of skin problems because you’ll be washing the natural oils out of his coat, if he is really dirty then bath him otherwise he will wash himself. the best food i have found is ‘james wellbeloved’ we fed our dobes this as they had sesitive stomachs – watch out for the lamb one the turkey one is best. what ‘lisa’ is saying about (beaks, feet etc) is written as animal derivitives in the ingredients, nearly all dog food has this and it obviously does no harm to dogs, but if you don’t like the idea of giving your dog rubbish then james wellbeloved is the food to try, the spots will heal on there own but if they get too sore take him to the vets, but if you give this food a go it might help to ease it.
