It’s likely that your switcher is sending the wrong EDID back to your graphics card, which means your computer will only allow you to choose resolutions that are specified in that EDID. The easy way to confirm this is to connect your computer directly to your projector/display. This should allow you to choose from a wider range of resolutions.
