• Your client and the Nomadic VPN server send regular messages “Are you there?” “Yes I’m here” to check the connection is still up. If the Nomadic server is unable to talk to the client for over a minute then the session will be disconnected. • If the Nomadic connection stays up but is idle (you don’t send any traffic over it) for an hour then the session will be disconnected by the server. • Your client may have a setting to disconnect idle sessions after less than an hour. If you find that Nomadic sometimes disconnects even when you are actively using the connection then point 1 above is the cause. This is out of our control. The connection from your PC to the University is unreliable.
