Why does my child have to attend clinic for speech sound work – can s/he access it in school?
It is essential that children with language difficulties have their needs met in school within a natural environment. Schools have a range of tools and experience that they can use to support these children in school with guidance and support from an SLT. Many children with isolated speech sound difficulties can have their needs met through group or individual sessions in clinic. They often need specific direct SLT on a regular basis. It is not possible to give this level of intervention to individual children in individual schools.
