Why does my boiler (baxi bahama) keep going to the red light flame failure?

Typically, a false flame failure is due to a faulty thermocouple. I believe that is a modulating boiler and at times of low-fire the thermocouple may not get hot enough to ‘sense’ the flame – shutting the system down. If you have an early version of this unit, they were notorious for this failure. if you are under a service plan, you might just ask them to replace or adjust the ‘flame sensor’ and see if that cures the problem. Oddly enough, NG boilers are more prone to this than LPG boilers as natural gas burns cooler than propane. Good luck with it. We run a similar unit for hot water and when we first got it, it was constantly failing until the manufacturer (Bosch) replaced the electronics package (including the thermocouple) outright. After which it has been working properly without trouble for years. We don’t regret it, but the first few months until the problem was recognized and solved were an adventure when taking a shower.
