Why does my 2 year old cat eat so much and is always hungry and getting fatter?
My gray cat is 6 years old (her birthday was yesterday) and she is the same way. If she isnt sleeping she is using the litterbox or stuffing her face. She looks like a butterball. But you had yours checked out so their is nothing wrong with her. She just loves food like mine. My mom had a saying that went ” worry when someone is not eating not when their eating” Yes, my cat sometimes will meow to me and act like she hasnt eaten for days. Drives me nuts! But that is when you as her parent, do not give in to her/him everytime they beg.
What kind of cat food are you using? Many brands, especially the cheap ones, contain lots of grain instead of meat and such. Cats draw no nutrition from that, and while it “fills them up” they get hungry right away again because there’s no nutrition for them in it. Try looking up what’s in the food you give them, and try switching food brand. As someone else said, it could also be a good thing to make sure the de-worming worked. Edit: A note about rubber bands. They can be extremely dangerous for cats, since they don’t get digested, and since they stretch they can get stuck in the intestines and damage them. So don’t leave any around, and if your cat manages to eat even a piece of rubberband (or sewing thread for that matter), take them to the vet immediately, because it will have to be removed by surgery.
