Why does mucus increase during early pregnancy?
All kinds of body mucus will increase in pregnancy. Much of this is general hydration of the body while you’re building the placenta (you might for example, also notice a runny nose) and because your body is circulating 40% more blood than when you’re not pregnant (hence the high rate of nose-bleeds). Also, mucus is the body’s natural cleaning mechanism and it’s trying to be as healthy as possible!
