Why does mitosis takes place?
Mitosis is the process in which all the nuclear material (DNA) within a cell is copied. This material is essential for a typical cell to survive as it controls all processes within it, such as the production of key proteins for instance. After the nuclear material has been copied the cell splits in half, allowing a mechanism for cellular division – in simpler terms, growth. This growth is essential in the earlier stages of life, and also allows for essential replacement of dying cells around the body.
