Why does middle eastern food smell so horrible?
My family adores Indian food. But it’s pretty pungent. One time we were walking around in downtown Toronto, and we followed our noses down a whole block to find the “Punjabi Palace”. I was telling this to one of the ladies in the office, and she said they once lived right near an Indian family, and got totally turned off by the constant curries. Possibly you could ask your landlord to help you track how the heating and cooling ventilation system works. Perhaps you might be lucky enough to find a way to better isolate your living quarters. Do the apartments have exhaust fans over the stoves? Perhaps you could suggest that to the people upstairs. You could say that the “aromas” from their cooking drift down to your place, but they just don’t blend with your style of food preparation.
