Why does Maddux prefer to have Eddie Perez catch him or any other catcher other than Javy Lopez?
Answer Maddux has said repetedly that he had nothing against Javy Lopez. He just feels more comfortable with Eddie Perez. And now that Eddie is injured , Javy is almost never getting the chance to play when Maddux pitches, not because Maddux would rather have another catcher in there (I am sure he’d rather have Javy out there calling the game even when they don’t always agree) but because Bobby Cox believes in giving Javy a day off once in a while.
