Why does limewire switch off my internet connection?
This can happen with P2P type programs and some types of lower end routers or modems (essentially all modems/routers which ISP’s give out with connections, and quite a few sold in shops excluding the higher quality mid to top range units), it can also happen with hardware which is nearing the end of it’s life and beginning to fail as well, the problem is caused by the program trying to open too many connections at once the router/modem can’t handle so many open connections and crashes rebooting itself (and loosing the connection to the internet in the process). Somewhere in limewire you should be able to find, probably hidden in with the advanced settings or network settings a setting to tell limewire how many connections to attempt at once, probably called something like “Maximum connection attempts” or similar (note this is not the setting which says how many peers to connect to) this limits the number of outgoing connections it will try to make from your PC at once, reduce this sett
