Why does Lamar block many of the peer-to-peer file swapping programs?
Lamar does indeed discourage the use of and actively try to prevent the swapping of copyrighted materials (mp3s, movies, etc…). Not only is it illegal (see Digital Millennium Copyright Act) to swap copyrighted materials but it can also be dangerous. People who wish to do you harm imbed viruses, trojans and other potentially harmful items inside music and video files that people unassumingly download.
