The selling of produce by weight was an invention of the supermarkets. Many years ago, the original fruiters actually sold most of their produce individually. Our research shows that most people do not follow the weight concept of purchasing. How many of us actually know how much six apples weigh? Don’t we just pick the apples we like, put them in a bag and take them to the check out? We believe that you know your family’s needs better than us and will prefer a more efficient and simple way of purchasing – that is – to shop by unit in most cases.
