Why does Jumping Beans® have a star architecture?
Two reasons: Security and central management. On each jump, a jumping application must pass through the Management and Security Console. This allows the Management and Security Console to perform extensive security checks on each jumping application, on each jump. The Management and Security Console also provides a point of centralized management. From the console, an administrator can monitor and configure the agencies and the jumping applications. There is no central location in a peer-to-peer arrangement.
