Why does Jodie Foster act in such sad movies?
She started out in froth movies but wanted to do more than that – films which would actually make a statement and be an acting challenge for her. Yes, a lot of people were shocked by Taxi. Jodi always seemed very mature for her age though. She is said to be extremely bright and I see that now she is working on a biopic of Leni Riefenstahl – that would be extremely interesting. She is one of the few former child stars I can think of who has made a successful career as an adult and still managed to be a well-adjusted person. (I don’t think she’s a sad person. She did have a difficult time though after some guy tried to assassinate Ronald Reagan because he was an obsessed fan of hers and he wanted to ‘impress’ her. I think she’s just into serious subjects.
