Why does it take a long time for death row inmates to b killed?
Death row inmates take a long time to be killed because the system itself takes a long time. You can’t just say oh, well, you’re in death row and you’re just going to get the chair tomorrow, goodbye. No, there’s mandatory procedures and a whole list of steps to take before they can make the decision to execute and how to go about executing the inmate. Besides, an issue of morality comes to play too. Does the inmate deserve to be executed? Should he be executed? Is it right, is it just? You can’t just take a person’s life with a snap of a finger. A person’s life is more precious and it’s inhumane to think that a person should be killed quickly. The more time death row inmates take to be executed, the more time to deliberate and make sure it would be the right decision to go through with it. But still, capital punishment and the death penalty should be abolished.
