Why does it seem that in animal law Dogs have to chase Cats?

Dogs have to chase cats because cats want them to. Cats know that they can outrun, outwit, out climb dogs. So they tease dogs. Dogs have a big “chase” gene in them. It’s big fun. It’s also their “duty” and they take it very seriously. Cats know this and exploit it.

Not true. I have had many dogs who did not chase cats. They even cuddled with the cats; sometimes to keep warm but sometimes just to sleep. My relatives also have always had dogs existing in friendship with cats. It is seldom that I have seen one who cannot get along with cats.
