Why does it fall to home health agencies to educate the physicians on the FTF encounter?
CMS has addressed this issue during several of their Open Door Forums with physicians. They have used a variety of methods to attempt to educate physicians on this change. Many physicians are aware of this change, but for those who are not, it does then fall to the home health agency to educate the physician, as this is a condition for payment for the home health agency.
