Why does InterCheck prevent me from deleting an infected file?

0

By default, Windows 95/98/Me deletes files by moving them to the Recycle Bin. The InterCheck on-access scanner prevents infected files from being opened which means that they cannot be deleted in this way. There are a number of possible solutions: • Press ‘Shift/Delete’ to delete the file without moving it to the Recycle Bin. • Start the PC in DOS mode and delete the file normally. • Configure Sophos Anti-Virus to remove the file.
