Why does instantG.com use the coded forms of METARs and TAFs for Aviation Weather?

0

instantG.com intentionally chose to display only the coded forms of METARs and TAFs since it is cumbersome to read the decoded (or English) versions of the same data on cell phones and other wireless devices with small screens, a limited number of lines per screen, and a limited number of characters per line. Technically, it is also faster to send the coded version of the METAR or TAF to your wireless device since we are transmitting less data (ie., fewer characters). And as pilots, it never hurts for any of us to hit the books and be able to successfully interpret the coded forms of METARs or TAFs!
