Every style of music has its own instrumentation, African music has percussion, spanish=guitar, indian music tabla, sitar, veena etc, which gives you indian feel, if you add guitar to indian songs it may look good, but you will see a blend, sometimes may soung good or bad. moment you listen to guitar, our mind will percieve only western chord progressions, indian music is raga oriented, western is harmony rich, you can’t justify a raga on a piano, neither you play a sonata on sitar, the origin and development of instrument itself is associated with a form and style of music.
