Why does heat damage colostrum?
A. Heat damages colostrum because colostrum is a body fluid which contains bio-active components. If these components are exposed to temperatures over 42°C they will begin to die. Why 42°C? When we fall ill and suffer from fever our body’s temperatures increases in order to fight off infection; a rise in body temperature above 42°C it could prove to be fatal as it threatens our cells and composition of the blood..
