Why does handmade soap cost more than store bought soap?
Handcrafted soap is made up of quality ingredients. Most commercial manufacturers use animal based fats for their soaps, which can be a lot cheaper. Plus, they use other chemicals and detergents which may cost less than prime pressed olive oil or cocoa butter. I use the best ingredients to make Irish Hearth Soaps, but the benefits of using handmade soap far outweigh the cost. You will find these bars to be long lasting, and many times, you will not need to use other products after you bathe such as creams and lotions. Remember – it’s not quantity, but quality that counts!
