Why does Goodwill have retail stores?
Approximately 1/3 of Goodwill’s annual operating budget comes through our retail operations, lowering our reliance on government, corporations and other sources for funds. The revenues (including the generous donations that the public makes to us) support our programs. We believe in the power of work and practice it ourselves. Our retail stores also provide an important opportunity for the people we serve; jobs in our stores are often part of training programs for people with disabilities and other special needs.
