Why does going “Away From Keyboard” (or typing /afk) kick me out of the instance?
Battlegrounds are a fast-moving PvP environment where it’s important for everyone involved to remain active to create the best experience for all. Being idle or away from the keyboard can certainly hurt the rest of the players on your team by hindering their ability to compete. Note that either going AFK by remaining idle or manually typing /afk will cause you to be affected by the Deserter debuff, which will prevent you from joining another battleground queue for 15 minutes.
