WHY DOES GOD PERMIT SO MUCH SUFFERING? Did God send hurricane Mitch?
In the world we live in today there are many things which are hard to understand. The question most people ask is, “If God is love why does He permit so much suffering?” In fact, many people believe that God Himself sends sickness and disaster as a punishment, such as earthquakes or the recent Hurricane named Mitch which struck Honduras and other countries. Is it possible to know the answer to such difficult questions? Yes, it is possible and actually much more simple than most people imagine. First of all, let us look into our very own hearts. If you have children you know how much you love and care for them. Right? Right. A loving parent would not discipline or correct an innocent little baby or child who has done nothing wrong. This would be very cruel. Why then do we think or imagine that our Heavenly Father would be so cruel to hurt and kill innocent people with a terrible devastation like Hurricane Mitch?
