Why does God and Jesus, and religion always have to come up in gay marriage questions?
Because usually the only rationale people can come up with against gay marriage or the very idea of homosexuality is based in religion. There are no other reasons that stand up to scrutiny for people to be against it. Religion is the default, fall-back position for most who do not care to think much on their own. When you have something or someone else making decisions for you and telling you what and how to think, you bear no responsibility for your views or actions and therefore abdicate any reason for looking within to find your own truth and any feelings of discomfort this introspection naturally brings with it. The old adage, “Ignorance Is Bliss” is only the first part of that reality. Disassociation, fear, hatred, bigotry and irrationality are also ignorance’s bedfellows.
Without over indulging with this one – The reason God & Jesus always come up is because the ONLY reason to get married is to show God that you have committed to one person, That you have found that someone you are going to spend the rest of your life with – You have separated from your parents and joined your mate and have become one. Without there being a God & Jesus being or getting married serves absolutely no purpose. Non believers are who have taken the purity out of marriage.
