WHY DOES GO GREEN RADIANT BARRIER HAVE TO BE PERFORATED?

A Radiant barrier must be perforated to allow water vapor to pass through. In the winter, the warmer moisten laden air in your home will raise toward the cooler air in the attic. If there are no perforations in the radiant barrier, the raising moisten laden air will condense and even freeze on the underside of the radiant barrier. This can cause water damage to the ceiling and existing attic insulation.
