Why does GMTV charge to send content to the show?
Together with a number of other broadcasters GMTV charges 25p for incoming text messages and 50p for picture and video messages. Some viewers are keen to use this as an easy way to communicate with us. We will read/view every message that comes in and all suitable messages may be displayed on the website. GMTV does not actually receive 25p from each text, as the Network Operators and our mobile gateway take the lion’s share. What GMTV does receive helps pay for the administration and staffing of this interactive mechanism. It should be noted that GMTV is not running these services with a view to making a profit.
