Why does Girl Scouts of South Carolina – Mountains to Midlands, Inc., conduct background checks?
Our council is committed to providing a safe, high quality program experience for girls. Conducting background checks provides an important safeguard for the girls in our care. Which positions require a satisfactory background check? We ask all people who would like to work directly with girls and/or serve as a troop or service unit product sales manager to undergo a background check. Some other volunteer positions may also require a background check, which would be noted in the qualifications section of the position description. What is required? The applicant must provide his/her name, date of birth and Social Security number. You may either access the site and enter the information yourself or complete and return the Background Check Authorization form to your service center for processing.
