FreeOTFE4PDA’s version number was incremented to v5.00 in order to better reflect that its level of functionality was on a par with the PC version with the same version number, after support for encrypted Linux volumes and language translations were added in v5.00. A specific “v4.00” was never released, although there were a fair number of non-public versions released between v3.76 and v5.00 to various people to help with testing and confirm compatibility.
