Answer Hi Christine, Fred Williamson wears a Super Bowl I ring because he was a starting defensive back for the Kansas City Chiefs in that game. He was nicknamed “The Hammer” because of the hard way he nailed opposing receivers. Sadly (I am a Chiefs fan) it was a bad experience all around for Williamson. He bragged before the game about how he was going to punish the Green Bay Packer receivers…instead, it was he who was taken off the field on a stretcher and the Chiefs lost the game 35-10.
