Why does flooding with sea water cause plants to wilt?

0

Sea water consists of large amounts of salt water. The prossess of osmosis makes the concentration of water equal on both sides. So when you add salt water to plants, the pant cells have a higher concentration of water inside the cell than outside so through passive transport the water inside the cell goes into the enviorment. Thus leaving not alot of water if any in the cell which casuses the cells to die, which causes the plant to die.
