Why does FlightAware show the last flight rather than a pending “Scheduled” flight as the most recent one?
FlightAware always shows the most recent, departed flight in the tracking box with past or future flights in the Activity Log. Virtually all the known information about a future flight can be displayed in the activity log and there is not enough data to populate the tracking box. Additionally, if the most recent (including future) flight was shown in a tracking box, if a flight was en route from X to Y with a scheduled flight from Y to Z, the flight would never show as “Arrived” since it would immediately show the next flight, which would be undesirable.
