Usually when users see this behavior it is because the “Regular Expressions” checkbox has been left checked in the Search -> Find dialog box. By design, UltraEdit will not search for a highlighted word when “Regular Expressions” has been left checked in this dialog. Instead, with “Regular Expressions” checked, UltraEdit will search for the last string entered into the “Find What” dialog.
