Assuming your filling is NOT Gold, it is most likely from Oxidation – the same reason the Statue Of Liberty turned green over time, and also why old Silver coins turn blackish-purple.  Gold is a precious metal that does not oxidize (i.e. rust/tarnish/corrode); one of the main reasons why it has such a high societal value.
