Why does evil and suffering present problems for religious believers?
They have to justify how their deities (with amazing superntural powers) fail to take care of such problems for their followers. After all, if one assumes the nature of the deity is benevolent, then one must come up with an explanation as to why that benevolence is not reflected in the quality of the believer’s life. And why such things as evil were created in the first place.
People question their faith in God when they see catastrophic events take place. It is because man is naturally drawn to blame all things on God, instead of man of course. It has been this way for ages, man chooses to behave a certain way and the rest of us wonder how could God have let this happen…the person that walks close to Jesus realizes that it is not at all God’s doing even if the evil doers proclain that they are doing it in His name, they are fanatics not true followers using His name in vain, and God will deal with them in His own time, but these evil things going on in this world is not of God’s choosing He would rather see us loving and forgiving one another and feeding the hungry and healing the sick at no cost, giving always giving of yourself so that in the end all has shelter and nourishment and are happy, it is man’s choices on how to run their country, their nation, the world it is not governed by God.
