Why does everyone name their children after proper nouns??

Well, if you think about it, names like Anna or Lucy are proper nouns, because a noun is defined as a PERSON, place, or thing. Our own names are proper nouns. So, IMO, I think parents should stick to proper nouns instead of something, like, adjectives or helping verbs, LOL. And, of course, it all depends on people’s tastes. Some names like Dallas or Austin – which are places – I personally don’t find bad, but of course others will disagree, because it’s just not their style.

Names are proper nouns. The reason people use some words for things is personal. If a child is born in May or the summer or on a sunny day, the parents might think this is a good middle name. I wonder about some of these names like the days of the week for middle names. Some are cute and some the parents just don’t think far enough ahead to realize that this little baby will be an adult someday and be called a name that might sound like they are a hooker!

All names, by nature, are proper nouns. Place names, people’s names, etc are all proper nouns. Summer, autumn, candy, sugar…those are just nouns.
