Why does everyone like final fantasy vii?
its because it was the episode in the series that was mass marketed and was also the first one to actually take the series in the directions that have made it such a hallmark in gaming today. The reason that most people think that it is better than the other episodes, like VIII which did have better graphics and gameplay and probably an equal storyline was because VII re-defined the J-RPG genre, while VIII jsut followed its own trend. Think about it in terms of American presidents, you remember some of them because they were historical figures who set watersheds in history, like Final Fantasy VII, however the other presidents are still as important for the country, but they are not remembered because they didn’t do anything very significant.
