LONDON — Harlequins’ participation in this season’s Heineken Cup is secure after tournament organizers ruled out taking any more action against the rugby club over the now infamous fake blood injury scam. European Rugby Cup said Tuesday that it is content with the punishments decided last month by its disciplinary committee but that it will be sending England’s Rugby Football Union evidence to help its inquiry into the London club’s conduct. Quins were fined an unprecedented 300,000 euros (C$468,785) and disgraced coach Dean Richards banned for three years after he was ruled responsible for the use of a blood capsule to fake injury. “The ERC disciplinary officer has brought the misconduct charges against Harlequins and/or its officials and staff as far as is feasible in this instance,” ERC said in a statement.
