Why does England want to be in a political and economic union with Scotland and Wales?
You’re mistaken in a couple of things. Devolution wasn’t about sticking it to the English but was a way to make sure that Wales and Scotland were directly governed by a dedicated sub-parliament. There’s quite a few Scottish laws that were “written on the back of English ones” to quote a radio man, which is why the Scottish National Trust is in such a mess, Scotland being far less densely populated than England can’t be run in the same way but Westminster refused to listen so devolution eventually happened. Are English people working in Scotland counting as Scottish tax-payers or English ones and it goes the other way round.
