Why does DynSite access noeld.com or sites other than the DNS services?

There may be two reasons: • if you have a permanent Internet connection and you configured DynSite to use the Automatic IP address detection feature then the program queries a remote script (e.g. ipaddrx.asp, see Q21) hosted at the sites (IP) listed in the scripts.cfg file (e.g dynsite.ipdetection.dynaccess.de:8245) to get your external IP address. • if you have a dial-up Internet connection, DynSite may also attempt to connect to one of the sites (ON) listed in the scripts.cfg file when it needs to make sure that your Internet connection was not unexpectedly dropped or to simulate a Keep-Alive feature. • DynSite also downloads a small text file from noeld.com (which routes to a server at romanweb.com where my site is hosted) to check for the availability of a program or a plug-in set update.
