Why does DSL Modem Status field display “No DSL Modem Found” after a PPPoE connection is established?
This applies only to xio-based modems such as the 5100, 5200, 5340, 5400, and 5500, and will normally only occur in test environments, where the Network servers are on the same subnet as the modem. Tango Support communicates with the modem by assigning a local IP address to it’s management port. When the Network Server assigns a new address for the PPPoE connection, it can prevent Tango Support from being able to reach the modem, due to IP address conflicts. The workaround is to release the Ethernet adapter’s IP address before making the PPPoE connection.
