Why does drinking beer give me a hangover but southern comfort, sambuca and goldschlager doesn ?
It’s all about the sugar hon! Beer has a lot more stuff in it that turns to sugar as you digest it… barley, malt, hops… they all turn to pure sugar, along with the alcohol. Sugar, combined with alcohol can seriously dehydrate you. The headache is actually the blood vessels in your head spasming to move your sluggish blood from being dried up due to the alcohol consumption. Want to have your 15 pints and NOT have the big head the next morning??? Take 4 Advils (NOT TYLENOL! It can damage your liver with all that alcohol!), a multivitamin and drink a quart of water before bed and you should be worlds better!!!
