Marketing from the industry and peers at times has tried to prey on surgeons’ fears and has been successful in some cases. I’ve always been an advocate of the truth above all else. I say what is exactly on my mind. At times, I have passed up some pretty good money, but when I lay my head down on my pillow every night, l sleep well. Because I’ve always believed in telling the truth even if it’s ugly, people value my opinion. If you’ve already bought a femtosecond laser and have “buyer’s remorse” deep inside, hopefully next time a new product comes out you’re pressured into buying it, you might consider resisting that pressure and waiting for more data to come out before making a decision.
