Why does DHT play an important role in hair loss?
Through modern research, scientists have discovered that DHT is the major cause of Male Pattern Baldness. DHT targets receptors on the hair follicle. Though all males have DHT, males who experience Male Pattern Baldness have a greater number of DHT receptors. DHT acts on the hair follicle, causing it to produce finer and finer hair. It also reduces the life span of the follicle. Eventually excessive levels of DHT will destroy the hair follicle, causing it to no longer produce hair.
