Theoretically it shouldn’t. Buildings are insulated very well these days, almost air tight. HVAC systems are designed to compensate for that by exchanging the stale air with fresh air. During winter, moisture may have to be added to the air that is circulating throughout the building. The system is supposed to control the amount that is added, but on occasion adds too much. This will cause condensation on windows, doors, etc. Your home works in a similar way if you have a humidifier mounted on the ductwork at the furnace. There is a humidistat that controls the amount of moisture added. If we don’t adjust for changing temperature, we get condensation. Hope this helps.
