Why does Colorado Tub Repair use Acid Etching?

0

Unlike our competitors, Colorado Tub Repair actually uses two types of refinishing techniques – Acid Etching and Quick Prep. Acid Etching is an acid based chemical that strips the top coat of porcelain finish off of the bathtub so the refinish is able to adhere when it’s sprayed. If acid etch is not used, the new glossy refinish will not hold long and this will cause the bathtub to bubble and peel. Quick Prep helps remove the porcelain finish, but not as well as the Acid Etching. Quick Prep is a newer product that hasn’t been tested or has the proven results as Acid Etching. Many other companies use only Quick Prep; their repairs tend to bubble and peel peel often. The reason why we use both products is to guarantee a better bathtub refinish that will last for years to come.
